Collection: Stop and Jot

Getting students to STOP & JOT during independent reading can be difficult. But, it’s necessary because teachers need that window inside of their readers’ brains to know what is going on while they read texts independently.  When they start out students tend to write down anything that comes to mind, even if it’s not related to the text they are reading and thinking about.  These STOP and JOT tools will help readers understand what they should be jotting and will help teachers understand how to assess those jots to keep those readers moving forward.
