Stop and Jot to Show Reading Thinking contains two minilessons to include when launching Readers Workshop.

What is included:

• One lesson introduces how to stop and jot while listening to the conversation with a text in your head while you read.
• The second lesson analyzes the types of thinking a reader does while reading. It breaks down the types of thinking that deepen understanding of text and the thinking that does NOT deepen understanding of text.
• Also included are think sheets for students to collect their thinking about a text. These think sheets can be easily collected for the teacher to analyze and collect information to inform future instruction and conferring points.
